1)In Hawaii a moped has to have a engine size of under 50CC, anything over that is considered a motor scooter and requires a motorcycle license, and insurance.
2) in Hawaii you are not required to wear a helmet although we do advise it.
3) Moped registration is the same as registering a bicycle (Oahu) for some of the neighbor islands you are required to get a safety inspection.
